Ambero (2022), Photo Collage.
Styling, Makeup, and Modeling by Venus Talley.

"Do you ever feel like the world is slipping through your fingers, streaming past you at a million miles an hour? Do you ever wish you could bottle it up, grasp reality for a moment?

Save the world in absolute definition, capture it in Ambero forever.

Ambero uses cutting-edge 64-channel 360 degree scanning technology to pay proper respect to your experiences, whether it’s the magical first kiss or the quotidian peace of a morning coffee, in lossless, multi-sensory ultra-high fidelity. We promise to preserve it all. Become the curator of a singular archive of you, and share your truth with millions of users worldwide, building a collective consciousness to guide generations to come.

For too long the hard drive has remained a lifeless, inhuman tool, a crude substitute for the real. With Ambero, recall and reality, human and machine, finally come together as one. This is the future of the past. Enter your coordinates into the device and remember what it is to be alive."

In this project I created three speculative high-tech products and created an ad campaign with video and photos for them. Parodying technoutopic discourses parroted by massive, exploitative tech companies, I aim to explore the entanglements of desire, commodity, and dystopia. How do words, bodies, images, and the psyche intersect to construct specific technological advancements and the production of commodities?

This work is part of the Commodity Fetish series and was in Automated Carnalities, my show at the List Art Building in Providence. It was also used in the Commodity Fetish installation piece.
